Before watching Brock and Cain butt heads inside the Octagon for the UFC Heavyweight belt, here’s a quick recap of some of the highlights from the UFC 121 weigh-ins that went down in Anaheim, California. First off, with a character like “Filthy” Tom Lawlor on the card, you know something wacky had to happen when he took the stage. Considering Lawlor won’t get the chance to wow the crowd on live TV this go round due to his walkout being cut from the Spike TV broadcast, the Filthy one made best use of the UFC 121 weigh-in limelight to provide a bit of entertainment.
Lawlor took the stage donning a boxing robe and Art “One Glove” Jimmerson mask, in honor of the UFC 1 legend who battled it out with Royce Gracie back in the day while wearing just one boxing glove to protect his jab hand, prior to losing via first round submission to Gracie. Hitting the crowd with a double dose of entertainment, Lawlor also tipped the scales in a tiny pair of bright pink briefs, showing some support for breast cancer awareness.
In addition to Lawlor’s entertaining ways, Diego Sanchez came out full force as always, pumped up and ready to rip Paulo Thiago’s head off while dropping enough “YES!” bombs to motivate all of Anaheim. Finally, Tito Ortiz flipped the script on one of his own classic message tees by replacing his “Dana is my Bitch” UFC 84 weigh-in shirt with a more optimistic looking “Dana is my Hero” design.
