A large crowd of Mixed Martial Arts fighters, fight fans and media were treated to the second edition of Cage Fashion on July 11th, 2009 at MIX Lounge in the Mandalay Bay. Held during the weekend of the historic UFC 100 event in Las Vegas, Cage Fashion 2 showcased some of the hottest new styles from a variety of MMA fashion brands. The star-studded show featured a list of today’s top fighters modeling the latest MMA clothing from labels including Bad Boy, Ecko MMA, FightChix, Guillotine, Tokyo 5, Silver Star and Vandal Eyewear.
The scene at MIX Lounge was electric as spectators watched some of the world’s toughest MMA fighters step away from the cage and strut their stuff on the catwalk while modeling great new gear from brands heavily associated with the fight fashion game. Popular Mixed Martial Artists including Urijah Faber, Diego Sanchez, Frank Trigg, Pete Sell, Gabriel Gonzaga, Philip Nover, Eddie Alvarez and Minotauro Nogueira entertained the crowd while modeling the latest styles from today’s top brands.
As the MMA clothing industry continues to grow, labels involved in the sport are clearly carving out a credible niche for themselves in the world of fashion. What was once seen merely as a form of combat sports, the Mixed Martial Arts industry has evolved beyond the cage and into a culture and lifestyle for many. Cage Fashion 2, organized by Marcus Mera, has broken down the barriers and helped bring this emerging trend to the forefront of mainstream fashion.
As the culture continues to thrive, fight fashionistas can surely look forward to many great styles to come from today’s leading brands.
