Now that word is out that our favorite WEC fighters will be stepping onto the main stage when World Extreme Cagefighting merges with the UFC in 2011, here’s looking forward to this week’s upcoming WEC 52 fight card featuring the bantamweight debut of Urijah Faber, plus the return of Joseph Benavidez, Chad Mendes and more. But before we have a chance to watch the smaller guys battle it out inside the cage at WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki, let’s take a look at some of the best new gear and entertainment to hit the scene this past week in the world of MMA clothing and culture.
Alistair Overeem’s Bizarre Japanese Television Show Appearance:
Pretty much anything Strikeforce Heavyweight Champ Alistair Overeem appears in nowadays is considered cool. From his ongoing video series titled THE REEM, to his complete and utter annihilation of his last nine opponents, Overeem is killing it all over the place – including Japanese television. While I have absolutely no clue as to what’s going on this video, check out five minutes of Alistair having his muscles groped and prodded by Japanese television show hosts, prior to delivering a knee from hell to some poor soul for the world to see.
UFC Connect T-shirt:
Safe to say the latest assortment of UFC T-shirts is looking pretty impressive. From the UFC Fist T-shirt series featuring country flag clenched fists, to this new style featuring Mike Swick laying leather to Dan Hardy’s chin, seems like there’s quite a few new great looking UFC graphic tees on the way.

Down with Nick Diaz Video:
Seriously, what’s not to like about Nick Diaz? On top of being the Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, Nick and his brother Nate are notorious for mean mugging and flipping off just about everyone who gets in their way, while representing Stockton, California to the fullest. For a full dose of Diaz, check out this video as he touches on everything from the fight game to triathlons while flawlessly swinging around a lethal looking pair of nunchucks.
FORM Athletics Pride Fight Shorts:
Blending clean athletic styling with a bit of California surf culture, FORM Athletics is on track to becoming the new face of fight fashion. Having had the opportunity to check out and test out some of the latest FORM gear, I can honestly say the FORM “Pride” fight shorts are everything you’ll need in your life if looking for a pair of simple looking lightweight fight shorts. Complete with subtle FORM logo hits on the leg and waistband, plus a full FORM Athletics logo embroidered on the opposite leg, the “Pride” shorts are clean, stylish and straight to the point.

Diego Sanchez Buys Himself a YES! Chair:
When not all pumped up and looking to cause chaos inside the Octagon, Diego Sanchez seems like a pretty calm, cool and collected guy. Especially when he’s shopping for new YES! chair. Check it out as Sanchez prepares to drop a few dollars from his UFC 121 “Fight of the Night” bonus on a new piece of therapeutic furniture.
