With another eventful week of MMA in the history books it’s time to call out a few of the best things that come to mind in the world of MMA clothing and culture. As we’re all very well aware, October is a massive month for fight fans. TUF 12 is heating up, Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II just went down this past weekend and we still have UFC 120 and 121 to look forward to later on this month.
Not to mention, great new gear keeps on dropping courtesy of brands like RVCA and Dethrone, video has surface of Brock Lesnar’s fascination with gunning down watermelons, and as a result of last night’s reported back stage drama between Nick Diaz and Mayhem Miller at Strikeforce, this grudge match is bound to go down at some point in the very near future.
With all that being said, let’s check out a bit of the goodness from this past week, along with some of the excitement we can all look forward to in the next few days.
UFC 120 Trailer:
Although this trailer popped up a couple weeks back and has been on heavy rotation ever since, there’s something about this fight hype video that really gets us pumped up. Bisping, Akiyama, Hardy, Condit and more. They’re all about to let loose inside the Octagon in just a few days and chances are pretty good it’s going to get mighty crazy in there. Plus the card is free on Spike. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Dethrone Ghetto Bird Sweatshirt:
Dethrone Royalty stepped things up for the Fall/Winter season this week with the addition of a few new fleece styles. Along with the Dethrone Samurai Hoodie and the Sleeve Runner Zip Up, Dethrone also added a solid black-on-black crew neck sweatshirt. Nothing fancy, no frills or flashy tin foil type styling on this one. Just a clean design with a style name that takes us back to the good old days of Ice Cube’s Lethal Injection album.

Nick Diaz Pre-Fight Interview:
What’s not to like about Nick Diaz? He sets his own rules, refuses to “play the game”, seems to be perpetually pissed off at everything and loves flipping the bird at just about everyone in existence. Plus he’s one of the most entertaining fighters to watch inside the cage. This pre-fight video is classic Nick Diaz as he talks about his career, financial situation and appreciation for fighting.
RVCA VA-S Fight Shorts:
There’s something about RVCA clothing that just seems to make life that much easier. Perhaps you’re like the majority of people out there who’d like to represent the sport but don’t quite feel so comfortable walking around with fight gear that screams “I want to rip your face off and eat your soul”?. The thing that sets RVCA apart from the competition in the MMA world is the brand’s simple approach towards product design. Nothing too over the top, just classic looks that can worn pretty much anywhere. These new RVCA VA-S Fight Shorts sum it all up, with basic black and white fight trunks that slightly resemble the BJ Penn Fight Shorts, minus the signature touch.

Brock Lesnar Shooting Watermelons:
When not defending his title inside the cage, Brock Lesnar apparently enjoys shooting watermelons then devouring what’s left over on the spot. He’s proven himself to be an animal inside the Octagon by conquering the likes of Frank Mir, Randy Couture and Shane Carwin. This video provides further proof that Lesnar’s as big an animal while roaming around in the great outdoors.
