With UFC 119: Mir vs. Cro Cop just one week away, it’s time to recap some of the best new things in the world of MMA clothing and culture. Quite a bit has gone down over the course of the past week or so including Nate “The Great” making his triumphant return at UFC Fight Night 22, Season 12 of The Ultimate Fighter officially kicking off, not to mention the arrival of some great new gear.
As we look forward to Cro Cop and Mir clashing at the end of the week, let’s rewind and check out a few of the most impressive things to hit the MMA scene during the past seven days.
Caol Uno x ONEHUNDRED ATHLETIC Fall/Winter 2010 Preview:
Following up on his earlier 10AC collaborations with Nike, Caol Uno is back with his latest MMA apparel line ONEHUNDRED ATHLETIC. Similar to the 10AC collection, Uno’s new line looks to be equally impressive with classic designs that combine pure athletics and subtle street styling. Being a longtime fan of the Japanese street fashion scene, I always find it refreshing to see new brands like this one popping up, especially when they’re linked to veteran fighters like Caol Uno. TapouT TUF 12 GSP Fight Gear:
Season 12 of The Ultimate Fighter should prove to be a wild one. If you happened to catch the first episode this past week, with Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck taking over as head coaches, plus a house filled with a bunch of hungry lightweight fighters looking to let loose on eachother, it’s pretty safe to say we’re in for a treat.
Stacked with everything you could possibly want including a Team GSP branded jersey, T-shirt, rashguard, cap and two styles of fight shorts, the new TapouT TUF 12 fight gear is looking good as always. Fighters Only October 2010 Issue (Chuck Liddell Collector’s Edition):
A few weeks ago Fighters Only magazine contacted me for my opinion on the MMA fashion scene. It’s always a pleasure when one of the world’s leading MMA magazines hits you up for your take on something. Not only is the latest issue of Fighters Only packed with quality editorial content and more, it’s also a special collector’s edition focused on “The Iceman” Chuck Liddell.
To check out what I had to say about the state of the MMA clothing & culture scene, flip to the “How to be an MMA Superstar” feature (pages 76 – 81) for my two cents on the industry. At the same time, check out page 87 for the Chuck Liddell style feature I wrote, including details on his preferred designer denim, fight gear, luxury rides, gadgets and more.
Jaco Resurgence King II Bamboo T-shirts:
There’s nothing like a lifestyle tee that’s nice and clean, easy to wear and available in a variety of colors. If you add the pure comfort of bamboo to the mix, you pretty much have yourself the perfect tee. The Jaco Resurgence King II Bamboo T-shirt sums it all up with a classic design from the Jaco collection, made of 70% bamboo and available in every core color you could possibly want including white, black, grey, blue, plus cool earthy colors like brown and green. If you haven’t tried out bamboo clothing, you’re missing out. To check out all the colors click here.

VXRSI x MiddleEasy T-shirt Design Contest Winner:
When you mix a design contest with all kinds of creative talent, the outcome is usually nothing short of spectacular. Impressed by VXRSI’s design direction since day one, plus a fan of MiddleEasy.com’s always entertaining editorial content, I’ve been keeping a close eye on this contest since it was first announced. Following the unveiling of the Top 20 picks, the two parties announced the winning design earlier this week. Needless to say, the top tee took things to the next level, while earning a spot as the next VXRSI tee to go into production. Check it out below.
