It looks like Jon Jones isn’t the only UFC fighter to land himself a global sponsorship deal with Nike. As reported by Steph Daniels from BloodyElbow.com, Anderson Silva’s manager Ed Soares has confirmed that “The Spider” has signed a global deal with the Swoosh as well. A little while ago we saw pics of a “Silva Knows” T-Shirt being worn by the reigning UFC Middleweight champ, which got fight fans wondering if a Nike Anderson Silva clothing line was on the way. Now comes word that Silva’s Nike Brazil regional deal has been switched to a global deal similar to Jon “Bones” Jones. Check out what Anderson’s manager Ed Soares had to say about the subject below and stay tuned for more info on Nike’s sponsorship of “The Spider” as things progress.
“It started off as Nike Brazil, but it has since been made a global deal. I don’t think there’s another mixed martial arts athlete on the planet that deserves that more than Anderson. He’s one of the best athletes out there that fits that mold, the face of Nike. Look at all the people they’ve sponsored. People have compared Anderson as the Michael Jordan of MMA. The best of the best have always had some sort of affiliation with Nike, and I think the brand fits Anderson better than any other MMA athlete in the world.” – Ed Soares
